Teaching Requirements in South Korea

For Private Academies (Hagwons) & Public Schools (EPIK):

  • Native English speaker (UK, USA, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa)
     
  • Bachelor’s degree (any field)
     
  • TEFL/TESOL certification (minimum 120 hours)
     
  • Clean national-level criminal background check
     

For International Schools:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a subject-specific field (English, Math, Science)
     
  • PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
     
  • Teaching experience required
